Background

The COVID-19 pandemic caused widespread disruption to education, healthcare access, and livelihoods—particularly for low-income families without access to digital tools. As schools shifted online and essential services became digitized, many students were excluded from learning, while vulnerable households struggled to access telemedicine, relief information, and government services.

Objective

This initiative aimed to bridge the digital divide by distributing 5,000 smartphones to underserved students and families. The goal was to enable access to online education, telehealth services, government support systems, and essential communication tools during pandemic restrictions.
